My Day Today..

Bob and I painted some exterior doors and trim.
 Didn't know that just painting  could wear an old person out so much.
Went to the local grocery store for the usual bread,milk,lettuce,coffee creamer. It came to $10 and  something, I gave the cashier a $20 and some change,she said,' give me another penny I'll give you back your dime', apparently I mistook a dime for a penny. So we exchanged the change . She gave me my receipt and I was on my way. When I got home I got to thinking where did I put that $10.00. I looked in my purse everywhere, it wasn't there. I called the store and I told the woman who answered that I think they forgot to give me my $10.00 change back.
[I knew it was a long chance I'd ever get it back, but I had to try ,that's all I had till the end of the month}.
She said that was me that waited on you, do you mind waiting till we change drawers and I count it,I agreed and she took my number. Well the phone rang in a little while and she said ,' this is Cindy,I have your money,it will be here,you can get it at your convenience. I thanked her,and I went right away back to the store . The younger girl that was at the desk when I walked up looked at me and smiled and said ,'ten dollars?' I said -yep that's me. She went and got it and I told her to thank Cindy very much for me. She said ,'I sure will'. Thank you Mrs. Cindy Benner,there are honest people out there. I'm so glad you are one!!
Ten bucks isn't much,but when it's all you have it's hard to lose. I have never been very observant,and less so since I have gotten 'old'.But I will try to be from now on....
